Swansea Town

C                         G                C

Now, farewell to thee, sweet Nancy

       F             G           Am    G

Ten thousand times adieu

      C              F                       C

I`m bound to cross the ocean, girl

         F                           G

Once more to part from you

Chorus:

          C          G             C

Once more to part from you FINE GIRL!

                  F       G     Am     G

You`re the girl I do adore

       C       F                       C

But still I live in hopes to see

       F                               G

Old Swansea Town once more

Oh, it`s now that I am out at sea

And you are far behind

Kind letters I will write to you

Of the secrets of my mind

CH: Of the secrets of my mind

FINE GIRL!

You`re the girl I do adore

But still I live in hopes to see

Old Swansea Town once more

Oh, it`s now the storm is coming

I can see it coming on

The night as dark as anything

We can not see the moon

CH: We can not see the moon

FINE GIRL!

Our rigging is all tore

But still I live in hopes to see

Old Swansea Town once more

Oh, it`s now the storm is over

And we are safe and ashore

We`ll drink some drinks of brandy to

To the girls that we adore

CH: To the girls that we adore

FINE GIRLS!!

We`ll make the tavern roar

And when there is no money left

We`ll go to sea for more

We`ll go to sea for more

FINE GIRL!

You`re the girl I do adore

But still I live in hopes to see

Old Swansea Town once more

Storm Weather Shanty Choir overtydde til dei grader då dei torsdag kveld gjekk på scenen under Vikedal Roots Music Festival, og viste at dei kan meir enn å drøyma om bøljan blå. Med kjende shantyar som «Cape Cod Girls», «Swansea Town» og sjølvsagt «What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor», stod stemninga høgt under teltduken. Det er tydeleg at gutane i StormWeather Shanty Choir kan kunstane sine – og veit kva dei skal gjera for å fengja tilhøyrarane sine. Dette er kunst på høgt plan.
